Resorts World Genting (Abbreviation: RWG), originally known as Genting Highlands Resort is an integrated hill resort development comprising hotels, shopping malls, theme parks, and casinos, perched on the peak of Mount Ulu Kali at 1,800 meters high

Genting Highlands has a spring-like climate, with yearly temperatures no higher than 25 °C (77 °F) and rarely falling below 14 °C (57 °F) yearly. The lowest temperature of the Genting Highlands is 8.4 °C (47.1 °F).

The integrated hill resort represents a popular weekend getaway from the city heat, connected by major highways, trunk roads and cable cars service from Gohtong Jaya and is accessible by car within an hour drive from Kuala Lumpur (about 35 km), or accessible by two different cable cars, Genting Skyway which at its opening was the world’s fastest and South East Asia’s longest gondola lift, and the newer Awana Skyway

Theme parks

The Genting Outdoor Theme Park was open in 1994 and closed on 1 September 2013 to make way for the world’s first 20th Century Fox World, due to be completed by 2019.

The First World Plaza was closed from June 2017 to February 2018 for refurbishment. Hence, the indoor theme park, which was located in the plaza, had been closed as well. It is expected to be reopened as an all-new indoor theme park, called the “Sky metropolis Funland” in June 2018. SnowWorld, Genting Bowl and Video Games Park which are also within the plaza have reopened in February 2018.

On 1 June 2017, the whole plaza was closed for refurbishment. Genting Skyway is a gondola lift connecting Gohtong Jaya and Resort Hotel in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. Its lower station at Gohtong Jaya township, located approximately 51 kilometers (32 mi) northeast of Kuala Lumpur, comprises a 5-story station building and a 10-story car park while its upper station is located at the Maxims Hotel

The Genting Skyway is one of the two aerial lines serving Genting Highlands, with the Awana Skyway serving as an alternate route. The mono cable gondola lift was officially opened by the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir on 21 February 1997. Genting Skyway can carry more than 2,000 people per hour with 8 passengers per gondola. At the maximum speed of 6 meters per second (21.6 km/h), the 3.38-kilometer (2.10 mi) journey up the mountain peak takes approximately 15 minutes, depending on the weather. The system was designed by Leitner Ropeways.

The Chin Swee Caves Temple is a Taoist temple in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. The Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. Within the Temple is seated a statue of Qingshui, a Buddhist monk who has long been referred to as a deity in Fujian province, China for his supernatural abilities to summon rain and drive away evil spirits. The Temple attracts many local and foreign devotees from Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Kenya, and China. The Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated on a 28-acre plot of rocky forested land donated by Genting Group founder the late Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lim Goh Tong. Located 4,600 feet above sea level, the Temple is about 5–10 minutes’ drive down from the peak of the mountain.
